  A towing device especially developed for the North American market. It is easy to remove the ball section by removing a pin. This makes room for Volvo's towbar-mounted accessories.

  Each Volvo towbar has been designed for your Volvo. They are an integral part of the car's body and have been tested to ensure that they meet the most stringent safety and function requirements.

  For complete towbar installation, the Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) function is activated. The task of Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) is to stabilize a vehicle with a connected trailer in situations where the vehicle/trailer combination starts to snake. The function is part of the ESC stability system1.

  Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) constantly monitors the vehicle's movements, especially laterally. If snaking is detected, braking is applied to individual wheels, which provides a stabilizing effect on the vehicle/trailer combination. This is usually enough for the driver to regain control of the vehicle. If snaking is not suppressed despite the first engagement of Trailer Stability Assist (TSA), braking is applied to all wheels in the vehicle/trailer combination and the engine's driving force is reduced. When snaking is gradually suppressed and the vehicle/trailer combination is stable again, the system cancels the regulation and the driver regains full control of the vehicle.

  The towbar consists of three main parts: cross member, ball holder and a 2" diameter ball. The vehicle is prepared for installation in the bodywork. The towbar comes complete and ready to be installed.

  The towbar is treated in several stages to provide excellent protection for corrosion resistance.

  The trailer module manages the electronic communication between the car and trailer.
